1. When is the NTU scholarships application window period?
Nanyang President's Graduate Scholarship (NPGS):
The NPGS application window is open annually from October/November to December.
NTU Research Scholarship:
Applications must be submitted within the stated application period. Please refer this link under ‘How to Apply’ section for the application period for each semester.
2. Do I need to submit a separate application for NTU scholarships?
You are not required to submit a separate application for NTU scholarships. Applicants will be considered upon submission of a complete application within the application period and by indicating interest in the “NTU Scholarship.” All applications will be assessed holistically by the School for scholarship eligibility.
3. What are the eligibility requirements for applicants to qualify for NTU scholarships?
- There is no restriction as to the nationality of candidates.
- Candidates will need to obtain an Honours (Highest Distinction) degree or equivalent at the Bachelor’s level.
- Candidates who have not yet completed their undergraduate degree must provide official documentation from their university confirming that they are on track to graduate with an Honours (Highest Distinction) degree or equivalent.
4. What are the documents required to be uploaded during their application for NTU Scholarships?
Resume, Educational Certificates and Transcripts, Test Scores (GRE, IELTS etc.), Recommendation Letters etc.

5. Do I need to find a supervisor before applying for NTU Scholarships?
It is highly recommended that you seek out a potential supervisor prior to submitting your application. Alternatively, if you have not identified one, the School will appoint a supervisor based on your research interests.
6. If I am an international student applying for NTU Scholarships, is GRE or IELTS required for my application?
- If the medium of instruction used in your studies is English, you may obtain a letter from your home University to certify the medium of instruction for waiver.
- Applicants who submit GRE/GMAT scores and demonstrate strong quantitative, verbal, and analytical skills through the test will greatly enhance their chances of admission. Please refer to School’s website for the specific requirements. Test dates must be within 5 years or less from the date of your application.
7. Is the NPGS applicable exclusively to PhD programs or does it extend to both PhD and Masters programs?
NPGS is only applicable for PhD Programmes.
8. Will NTU offer physical certificates to certify the awarding of the NPGS to the awardees?
Physical certificates will not be issued. Successful candidates will receive an official NPGS award letter after a final interview conducted at the university level.
9. When will the results for NPGS and other NTU Scholarships be released?
Anticipate that the outcomes will likely be made available approximately 3 to 6 weeks following the completion of individual interviews.
10. What is the monthly stipend amount I will receive?

11. When will I receive my first stipend and one-time IT allowance?
New students must update their Singapore bank account details in GSLink by the 15th of the semester commencement month (January or August) to avoid delays in stipend payment.
The one-time IT allowance will be disbursed automatically after the bank details have been updated.
Note: If the 15th falls on a weekend or public holiday, the cut-off date will be brought forward to the preceding working day.
