NTU Sports Safety Programme
“Game On. Safety On. Injury Free.”
Our Commitment
Key Principles of Sports Safety@NTU
- Shared Responsibility: Sports safety is a collective effort involving coaches, association, administrators, academic supervisors, hall masters and participants.
- Risk Assessment: All NTU sponsored sporting activities are subject to risk assessments.
- Education & Advocacy: NTU promotes sports safety through educational materials, banners, digital displays, and an e-learning module for staff and students.
Sports Injury Definition & Reporting
Definition: A sports injury is any injury involving muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, nerves, bones, or joints, sustained during participation in sports, exercise or physical activity. It applies to all body parts and injury types, regardless of whether the individual is participating personally or representing a hall, university, or institute; regardless of whether the activity is competitive, recreational, or leisure in nature; and regardless of whether medical attention is sought or absence from school or activities is required.
Reporting Protocol: All sports-related injuries that require treatment by a medical physician must be reported via the NTU Incident Reporting Portal (iRis) within 24 hours, or as soon as possible. Reports can be submitted by the injured person, witnesses, organizers, or safety representatives.
