Editor's Note: Building Tomorrow’s Medicine Today
![]() | By Sanjay Devaraja, Editor, The LKCMedicine |
As the world of medicine is reshaped by artificial intelligence and digital innovation, LKCMedicine continues to chart bold new directions at the intersection of technology, science, and humanity. This April, we shine a spotlight on how the School is pioneering AI‑driven medical education — from embedding digital health and data literacy into its refreshed MBBS curriculum, to developing intelligent learning tools like the Riley chatbot and advancing AI‑enabled clinical communication training. Supported by transformative partnerships and philanthropy, these efforts reflect our commitment to nurturing doctors who are not only technologically adept but also deeply compassionate in their care.
This issue celebrates growth across our community — from the upcoming expansion of our Novena campus to a thriving calendar of academic exchanges and outreach. We highlight inspiring research breakthroughs, including a promising gut‑based compound for safe weight management and discoveries shared at RegenAge Singapore 2026. We also feature the 6th James Best Distinguished Lecture by Professor Pieter Cullis, whose pioneering work in lipid nanoparticles continues to transform modern therapeutics.
Our students and alumni remind us that medicine is as much about people as it is about progress. Whether engaging pre‑university students at MedVenture 2026, hosting free health screenings for migrant workers, or balancing clinical work with lifelong interests, they embody the School’s spirit of curiosity, compassion, and service.
Happy reading!
