Undergraduate Exchange

Studying aboard is a great way to explore the world and experience different cultures. We encourage students to participate in global education programmes and student exchange for a holistic, quality and once in a lifetime education experience. Besides welcoming overseas students from our partner universities, our students can participate in overseas programmes during their candidature.

WKWSCI is committed to offering overseas opportunities in terms of academic or professional activities to all our undergraduate students. NTU offers enriching student mobility programmes with more than 350 partner universities across 40 over countries through its Global Education and Mobility (GEM) initiatives. A large number of our students have a chance to be part of an overseas programme such as a semester-long exchange, short-term summer school, etc.

GEM Explorer
GEM Explorer enables students to take courses or do research in an overseas partner university for one full semester while exploring a new country and culture.

GEM Discoverer
GEM Discoverer offers various short-term programmes (ranging from 2 to 22 weeks) that place students overseas for work and/or study. During these stints, students earn academic units that count towards their NTU degree.
Singapore Universities Student Exchange Programme
The Singapore Universities Students Exchange Programme (SUSEP) offers NTU students the opportunity to study a few courses or up to one semester at NUS or SMU. This is made possible through a tripartite agreement with NUS and SMU.

WKWSCI students typically go on a semester-long exchange programme in Year 2 Semester 2, after completing sufficient academic coursework. This ensures that students are well-prepared to benefit fully from the exchange experience.

A semester-long exchange allows students to experience a different university and culture without incurring additional tuition fees.

Applications for exchange are submitted one academic year in advance, in Year 1 Semester 2.

You may refer to the list of WKWSCI’s global exchange partners here.

More information on Semester long exchange can be found here - https://www.ntu.edu.sg/education/student-exchanges/gem-explorer

Students can also consider a short-term summer programme if a semester long exchange is not suitable for you. These programmes are usually held during the university’s vacation period and is self-financed.
