This course is offered on a part-time (5 months) and full-time (3 months) basis.

Individuals with prior knowledge in programming fundamentals will enhance their learning experience and deepen their understanding of the curriculum.

    1Cat-A SSG Funded Courses - Eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs must attain at least 75% training attendance and passed all associated assessments in order to be eligible to enjoy up to 70% of the course fee. Learners will have to bear the full courses fee upon failure to meet either one of the requirements.

    2Mid-career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES) - Singaporeans aged 40 and above must attain at least 75% training attendance and passed all associated assessments in order to be eligible to enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fee. 

    3Additional Course Fee Funding Support (ACFFS)- Individuals must be Singapore Citizens and meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
    a) Long-term unemployed individuals (unemployed for six months or more);or
    b) Individuals in need of financial assistance – ComCare Short-to-Medium Term Assistance (SMTA) recipients or Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) recipients; or

    c) Persons with Disabilities.

    *The maximum government funding for each module is capped at $7,000, regardless of the specific funding scheme. As a result, certain modules within the course may not be funded up to the typical 90% or 95% levels. This limitation contributes to the slightly higher nett fee.     Upon completing the programme, participants will  be  awarded an (SCTP) Advanced Professional Certificate in AI Engineering from NTU.

    Learning Objectives

    At the end of the programme, learners will be able to:

    • Integrate generative AI, Large Language Models, and existing AI services into software systems using APIs to build RAG-powered chatbots, configure AI agents, and basic agentic system
    • Implement backend services, APIs and data persistence 
    • Architect secure, scalable, production-ready solutions and apply DevSecOps practices to deploy and manage AI applications
    • Deliver a portfolio-ready GenAI capstone project

    Build strong foundations in coding, Git, agile workflows, databases, and core AI concepts to prepare for AI-driven engineering.

    Develop responsive, interactive interfaces using modern frameworks, integrating AI features such as streaming outputs, prompts, and transparent AI interactions.

    Implement secure, scalable backend systems with APIs, databases, microservices, and AI integrations, emphasizing reliability, observability, and structured engineering practices.

    Automate deployment with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and DevSecOps practices, integrating security and microservices for scalable, trustworthy AI applications.

    Leverage LLM APIs, RAG systems, and agentic workflows, culminating in a capstone project that delivers a production‑ready AI solution.

    Assistant Professor Leonard Ng Wei Tat 

    Programme Director

    Assistant Professor Leonard Ng Wei Tat is a faculty member with the School of Materials Science and Engineering in NTU. He leads his research group, the NGenuity Lab, whose research focuses on the development of self-driving lab systems for materials science. In particular, he applies AI techniques together with robotics systems to discover new materials and improve the properties of solar cells and cultivated meats.

    Assistant Prof. Ng holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, a MSc in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, a MSc from the University of Leeds and a BSocSci. From the Singapore Management University. He has published in multiple high-profile journals and AI conferences such as ICLR and Nature Communications.

    Daniel Goh

    Daniel Goh brings over 16 years of valuable IT industry experience in business development, systems integration, and software development to our software engineering programme.

    As the head of a software development and systems integration business, he delivers practical and modern solutions to multinational corporations, addressing their unique needs. Working closely with his team, he has successfully designed and developed end-to-end technology solutions for clients in defense, healthcare, and financial sectors.

    A graduate of Nanyang Technological University’s School of Computer Engineering, he also serves as an instructor for Skills Union Pte Ltd, where he teaches web development, focusing on topics such as HTML/CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS/React Native, NodeJS, and SQL/NoSQL as well as Java and SpringBoot.

    With his extensive industry background, deep technical knowledge, and proven teaching ability positions him as an hands-on mentor well-equipped to guide and support learners in mastering the skills to make a successful career switch.

    As an Oracle-certified Java professional with relevant industry experience, Sanjela excels in Java-based web application development and REST API design, with deep proficiency in the Spring framework, including Spring tools and Spring Cloud. Her hands-on expertise in JUnit for testing and SQL Server for database integration also help round the learning experience, making it comprehensive by blending theory with practical skills. This equips her to teach students how to build scalable, efficient microservices, a critical skill in modern software development.

    Her experience as an educator and course content creator at Skills Union highlights her talent for working with adult learners; being able to design engaging and practical curricula tailored to their needs. Sanjela has a demonstrated history of enabling adult learners to excel, guiding them from foundational Java concepts to advanced, real-world applications with clarity and precision.
