CCP0002 Develop Metacognitive Strategies for Effective Adult Learning
This 8-hour course aims to support metacognition in learners as well as foster one’s self-awareness of thinking and learning processes. It covers the key metacognitive strategies, opportunities for self-reflection and evaluation. Learners will benefit from understanding how they could self-regulate and manage their learning effectively.
By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Apply metacognitive strategies in adult learners.
- Develop self-awareness of thinking and learning processes.
The course will cover the following areas:

Dr Betsy Ng, Centre for Research in Pedagogy & Practice (CRPP)
Dr Betsy Ng is a researcher and lecturer at the National Institute of Education. She is also a Deputy Director at the Education Research Funding Programme Office. Her areas of research expertise include motivation, social-emotional learning and adult learning. Having a strong interest in education, Betsy has an extensive working experience as an education specialist, polytechnic lecturer, editor, and educator in a range of educational settings.

This 8-hour course is run over 3 days:- Saturday, 9 May 2026, 9.30am to 12.30pm (Face-to-face),
- Saturday, 16 May 2026, 9.30am to 11.30am (Online) &
- Saturday, 23 May 2026, 9.30am to 12.30pm (Face-to-face)
