CCA0001 Understanding School Assessments to Support Your Child’s Learning
This 3-hour online workshop helps parents understand how assessment supports their child’s learning beyond marks and examinations. Participants will explore the three key purposes of assessment and how each plays a role in education. The session will also highlight the importance of feedback and share practical strategies on how parents can support assessment at home. By the end of the workshop, parents will be better equipped to support their child’s learning through good assessment practices.
By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

- Recognise the importance of meaningful feedback
- Support your child's learning at home through assessment

Dr Chue Kah Loong, Deputy Head, Psychology and Child & Human Development
Dr Chue Kah Loong is a senior lecturer at the National Institute of Education. He is also the co-Head (Assessment) at the Center for Assessment and Evaluation. Currently, he teaches mainly assessment courses and has research interests in educational assessment, student wellbeing and motivation. Kah Loong has extensive working experience in education, having taught across a range of educational settings.
