No. The competition is open to all students, regardless of their level of technical competency or background. No prior competition experience is required and the shortlisted teams will get access to exclusive workshops as part of the competition process. If the project has received prior funding, grants, or awards from other competitions or from other institutions, the participating team is obliged to disclose this to the organiser.
- Can a student participate in more than one group for the competition, each with a different project, for example, by representing two different teams?
No, a student cannot join more than one group in the competition. Given the commitment required for the Pinnacle Prize, participants are expected to focus their efforts on a single project to ensure the quality and impact of their contributions towards the project.
- Can a local student team up with an overseas student(s) for the Pinnacle Prize?
Cross border collaborations are not recommended, as they may present challenges in aligning schedules and ensuring consistent progress. To work smoothly and stay fully committed to the project, it is important to avoid the difficulties of coordinating across different time zones.
