Life at CEE: Where Learning Meets Community

Community engagement is an integral part of student life in NTU-CEE. We empower our students through providing exposure and opportunities to foster a culture of social-mindedness and volunteerism among its student body, so as to create a more caring society.

Overseas Community Engagement Projects (OCEP) provide CEE students with meaningful opportunities to step beyond the classroom and serve communities in the ASEAN region. Through initiatives such as building school facilities, setting up community halls, and conducting educational programmes for children and youth, our students contribute their time and skills where they are most needed. These sustained and heartfelt efforts may be modest in scale, but they bring lasting warmth and hope to the communities they touch.

CEE undergraduates volunteered for inaugural NTU Service Week event

The inaugural NTU Service Week commenced on Sunday, 23 January 2022, with a hot-meal distribution event sponsored by Thatz International Pte Ltd, a company founded by NTU CEE alumnus, Mr. Simon Lee.

Through this initiative, 500 packed meals were distributed to 250 families in need at the Nanyang Community Club (Nanyang CCC). The event was graced by Mr. Ang Wei Neng, Member of Parliament, Advisor of Nanyang CCC, and NTU alumnus, who attended as the Guest of Honour.

In addition, four CEE undergraduates—Cenina Mariel Kathryn Ramirez, Ervin Quek Jing Yi, Eunice Zhou Yu Ying, and Toh Xin Yi—volunteered alongside Mr. Ang and Mr. Lee to hand out the meal packs to residents.

This collaboration underscores NTU’s strong alumni network and commitment to serving the community, while also encouraging students to embody the spirit of service and social responsibility.
