Director, MSc in Applied Gerontology
Associate Professor of Sociology

I am delighted to welcome you to the MSc in Applied Gerontology at NTU.

Asia is undergoing a rapid and profound demographic shift towards an ageing population, reshaping the social and economic landscape of societies across the region, including Singapore. In this context, applied gerontology – which brings together insights from medicine, social sciences, communication, business, the arts and biological sciences – plays a vital role in helping us understand and respond to the realities of ageing in Asia.

Our MSc in Applied Gerontology is an interdisciplinary, Asia-focused and learner-centred programme that equips you to engage critically and practically with ageing-related issues. You will learn alongside classmates from diverse professional and educational backgrounds, and develop the knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully in fields such as policy, leadership, services and care for older persons.

To suit different needs and life stages, the programme is offered through three pathways: a full-time pathway, a part-time pathway, and a FlexiMaster pathway (with SSG funding). Students in all three pathways take the same courses and attend the same classes; the pathways simply differ in how you pace your studies.

This website provides an overview of the programme and the options available. I hope you will find the information helpful and that it will encourage you to consider joining our MSc in Applied Gerontology.

Please feel free to contact me or a member of our team if you have any questions or would like to find out more.
