ASCEND Programme
The ASCEND Career Mentorship Programme (Advancing Students' Careers through Engagement, Networking, and Development) is a structured one-to-one career mentorship initiative by the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine). This initiative empowers MBBS students to explore their career interests and grow as future clinicians. It is designed to complement the existing Student Interest Groups (SIGs) and widens access to career mentorship and guidance.
Programme Highlights
- One-to-one mentoring relationships over six months
- Personalised matching between each student a mentor based on specialty and career
- Meaningful conversations on career pathways, specialty choices, and professional growth
- Reflection and engagement through regular check-ins between mentors and mentees
Who is ASCEND for
ASCEND is open to LKCMedicine MBBS students from all years who are keen to learn more about different specialties and seek personalised career guidance. The programme is particularly suited for students who:
- Wish to gain deeper insights into various career paths
- Value one-to-one mentorship and meaningful career conversations
- Are ready to take an active role in their own professional growth
Our Mentors
Our mentors are clinicians and healthcare professionals across a wide range of medical disciplines. They are passionate about nurturing and guiding the next generation of doctors in navigating their career choices and personal development. The profiles of our mentors are accessible only to students at the point of sign-up via internal channels.
