Dr. Wong is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He received his PhD and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his BS degree in the same field from the University of California, Berkeley. He was a National Science Scholar and a postdoctoral fellow in the mathematics department at MIT. He was awarded the Nanyang Assistant Professorship and the MOE Inauguration Grant START Award in 2019, and was recognised as one of ten Global Winners in the Physical Sciences category of the Falling Walls Breakthrough of the Year Awards 2024. His research focuses on X-ray photonics and free electron-driven quantum science. In addition to serving as Deputy Director of the CN Yang Scholars Programme, he is an Associate Editor at Optics Express, and a Technical Committee Member of CLEO USA.
