Research Brief

Chinese children with dyslexia face persistent literacy and motivation challenges shaped by the logographic script and high academic expectations.

Jiamin's project co-designs a “phygital” serious game, in which physical game components interact with a digital app, providing personalised, multi-sensory literacy practice to enhance reading motivation and strengthen literacy skills in Chinese dyslexic children. Literature review and case studies can identify gaps and transferable lessons, build a comprehensive understanding of current practices, tools and methodologies across projects. Iterative co-design with children, parents and educators, followed by user testing, will refine the concept.

The study will deliver a prototype and a replicable framework for future inclusive, game-based interventions in China.
