Li Quanyi
Master of Arts (Research)

Educational Background

  • Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication Design, Central South University

Research Brief

Quanyi's research work focuses on examining how camera shots shape audience perception of power, speed, and emotion in Marvel superhero fight scenes (2000–2025). Through close formal analysis of representative sequences across three phases of Marvel filmmaking, it maps shot scale, angle, movement and editing rhythms to perceptual effects and character construction. Integrating film theory and media psychology, the study argues that camera strategies are not neutral but actively produce experiences of dominance, velocity and affect that anchor hero identities and narrative stakes. The findings clarify the evolving action style of contemporary franchise cinema and offer practical insights for cinematography and action design.
